Our Story
In 1987, my father and maverick entrepreneur Leonard “Boogie” Weinglass opened the doors to a classic 1950’s- style diner and a first of its kind. It was located at 534 E. Cooper Ave in Aspen, Colorado.
In 1987, my father and maverick entrepreneur Leonard “Boogie” Weinglass opened the doors to a classic 1950’s- style diner and a first of its kind. It was located at 534 E. Cooper Ave in Aspen, Colorado.
What started as a fun, no-frills spot for burgers, shakes, and good times quickly grew into a multi-level Aspen landmark. By the 1990’s, Boogies had expanded into a full retail emporium featuring an extensive clothing store, memorabilia, and that unforgettable diner vibe. It became world-famous for its massive selection of denim-jeans in every shape, size, color, and designer label- along with cool T-shirts (including some rare concert tees), leather jackets, shoes, and accessories.
Locals, celebrities, and tourists alike flocked to Boogie’s for its unique blend of retro cool and high-quality gear. It was more than a store, it was a piece of Aspen history- unpretentious, fun, and always true to its roots.
Though the physical diner closed its doors in 2016 and the original brick-and-mortar chapter eventually came to an end, the Boogie’s legacy lives on. We are proud to carry the torch forward, and bring you some modern takes on my father’s classics.
